Privacy Policy
In short
CourtShot collects no personal data and has no servers of its own. Your game videos and tags stay on your phone. Only when you tap Go live (開始直播) are video and sound sent, directly from your phone to the streaming platform you set up, such as your own YouTube channel.
What we collect
Nothing. CourtShot has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking tools. Streaming uses the open-source HaishinKit library (BSD license), which runs only on your phone and sends no data to its authors or anyone else.
Where your videos and data are stored
- Recorded videos, your tags (points, fouls, timeouts, plays, highlights, periods), team names, and the links of broadcasts you started with your YouTube account are stored in CourtShot's folder on your phone. You can see and back them up in the Files app › On My iPhone › CourtShot.
- If you use the highlight export feature, the exported video is saved to your photo library. If iCloud Photos is on, it syncs according to your iCloud settings, which are between you and Apple; CourtShot never receives that content.
- Deleting CourtShot deletes the videos and data in its folder, so back up anything you need first.
Live streaming
- While you are live, the camera picture, sound and scoreboard go directly from your phone to the platform chosen in Live settings (for example YouTube). Who can see the stream, and how it is kept or deleted, follows that platform's settings and privacy policy. CourtShot never handles or stores the stream content.
- Stream keys (the password your platform gives you) are stored only in this phone's Keychain. They are not backed up to other devices and are never sent to us.
- The break screen replaces the picture with a score card and mutes the sound, so conversations during breaks are not broadcast.
Signing in with YouTube (Google user data)
- CourtShot uses YouTube API Services. By using Sign in with YouTube, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. See the Google Privacy Policy for how Google handles your data.
- What we access and how we use it: CourtShot requests only the YouTube scope (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube). It uses it to read your channel name (shown in Live settings), to create live broadcasts and stream addresses on your channel, and to check and end the broadcasts CourtShot created, or delete the ones that never went live. It never reads, changes or deletes any other videos, comments or data on your channel. - Storage: The sign-in credential Google issues (a refresh token) is stored only in this phone's Keychain. Your channel name, chosen privacy setting, stream address ID, and for each broadcast its video ID, privacy setting, and start and end times are stored in CourtShot's folder on your phone. None of this is sent to us; we have no servers.
- Sharing: CourtShot does not share, sell or transfer Google user data to anyone. A broadcast link leaves your phone only when you tap Share and pick an app.
- Limited Use: CourtShot's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Revoking access and deleting data: Signing out in Live settings deletes the credential and channel data from your phone. You can also revoke CourtShot's access under Third-party apps & services in your Google Account. Deleting a game, or the app, deletes the broadcast links on your phone. The broadcast videos themselves live on your YouTube channel, where you manage or delete them in YouTube Studio.
- Broadcast titles use the team names and date you entered. The privacy setting is the one you choose in the app (Unlisted by default).
Permissions
- Camera: to record and stream games.
- Microphone: to record the sound in the gym; it is also streamed while you are live (you can mute it at any time).
- Photos (add only): to save exported highlights to your library. CourtShot never reads your other photos.
- When you import a video, CourtShot reads only the one video you pick in the system picker.
Sharing
Videos or broadcast links are sent to another app (such as LINE or Instagram) only when you tap Share, through iOS's share sheet. That app's privacy policy applies after that.
Filming minors
Most players in grassroots games are minors. Before recording, streaming or sharing, get consent from players or their parents as your team and the organizer require. We recommend Unlisted streams, with the link sent only to parents. CourtShot never receives or stores any video content.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
